Classic Canada and New England

Cruise aboard the Majestic Princess

Cruise the Atlantic Coast in the fall

The most colorful journey you'll ever take

September 9-19, 2026

Patrick and Jan Murphy of the Schreiner YMCA  Alumni Chapter will host us on a colorful 10-day fall cruise to Eastern Canada and New England's Atlantic Coast for some unforgettable leaf-peeping ocean scenery.

The Majestic Princess cruise begins in Quebec City and ends in historic Boston. Enjoy the Princess line's signature dining favorites, such as Crown Grill and the Catch by Rudi. Come aboard and find out what makes this ship so special.

Spend leisurely days in delightful ports such as Seguenay, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax and St. John's world famous Bay of Fundy. Explore Portland, Maine and disembark in historic Boston, Massachusetts for a convenient flight or drive home.

Day-By-Day on the Atlantic Coast

DAY ONE AND TWO -- QUEBEC CITY, CANADA: To visit Québec is to experience France without crossing the Atlantic. The architecture, the ambience, and the animated conversation on the street confirm that a bit of France has been permanently imbedded in North America. Stroll along the streets of the atmospheric Latin Quarter and explore the historic stone and brick houses of Old Québec, the only remaining walled city north of Mexico. Visit the Place Royale and Notre Dame des Victoires, the oldest stone church in North America, and marvel at the turreted Château de Frontenac.

DAY THREE -- SAGUENAY, CANADA: The Saguenay Fjord Route is an outstanding landscape of sea, mountains and rising cliffs protected by three National Parks.  With a decidedly French atmosphere and a touch of the Old World, the banks of the Saguenay Fjord are lined with charming villages surrounded by beautiful landscapes.

DAY FOUR --  AT SEA: Enjoy your full day and evening aboard the Majestic Princess. Relax in a comfy deck chair, dine, and be entertained and pampered.

DAY FIVE -- CHARLOTTETOWN, CANADA: Prince Edward Island's landscape is dramatic and features rolling hills, pristine forests, reddish-white sand beaches, ocean coves, and the famous red soil. The capital of Charlottetown offers a small-town feel and a relaxed atmosphere with a cosmopolitan flair.  One certainly cannot think about Prince Edward without mentioning the author Lucy Maud Montgomery, who once lived on PEI and drew inspiration from the land during the late Victorian Era for the setting of her classic novel "Anne of Green Gables."

DAY SIX -- SYDNEY, CANADA: Cape Breton is fabled as a magical travel destination, and the Port of Sydney is the gateway. Known for its beauty and unique Celtic music and culture, Sydney puts some of the Island's greatest sights and attractions at your fingertips.  We'll disembark at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion with its shopping boutiques, a craft market and the World's Largest Fiddle. The city of Sydney has a deep history and was initially founded in 1785 by British Loyalists fleeing the perils of the American Revolution. To this day, Sydney remains a haven of multiculturalism.

DAY SEVEN -- HALIFAX, CANADA:  The capital of Nova Scotia and the largest city in Canada's Atlantic Provinces, Halifax was once Great Britain's major military bastion in North America. The beautifully restored waterfront buildings of Halifax's historic properties recall the city's centuries-old maritime heritage. Halifax is also the gateway to Nova Scotia's stunning scenery, including famous Peggy's Cove, where surf-pounded granite cliffs and a solitary lighthouse create an unsurpassed scene of rugged natural beauty.

DAY EIGHT -- AT SEA: Another relaxing day aboard the Majestic Princess to catch your breath, enjoy gourmet food and exciting entertainment.

DAY NINE -- PORTLAND, MAINE, USA: From the renovated Old Port with its brick sidewalks and cobblestone streets to the quaint seaside village of Kennebunkport, the summer home of President George H. Bush, Portland and the surrounding area have something for everyone. Shoppers will enjoy the Old Port and downtown area, which features many unique boutiques, shops, galleries, and restaurants. Outdoor enthusiasts will surely want to visit the world-renowned outdoor outfitter L.L. Bean and the many other brand-name outlets in nearby Freeport, Maine.

DAY 10 -- BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, USA: We disembark today in historic Boston. You may want us to book an extra day or two at a convenient hotel as there is so much to see. Hailed as the "Cradle of American Independence," Boston brims with heritage landmarks and cultural attractions that tell the story of our country's fascinating history. The vibrant city combines historic districts with revitalized urban centers. To make the most of your visit, embark on a comprehensive guided drive by motorcoach or trolley, or take the iconic "Duck" tour showcasing the Public Gardens and picture-perfect Copley Square. Follow the Freedom Trail along three of the most historic miles in the country and see the site of the Boston Tea Party. Trace the route of Paul Revere's famous ride, and stand on the bridge where Minutemen fired "the shot heard 'round the world." Venture into Lexington and Concord for more icons of the American Revolution, or head to Salem to explore the dark past at the Salem Witch Museum. Get an education at Harvard Square, touch "Fisk Pole" at Fenway Park, and top it all off with a bowl of "Boston Chowda" at Quincy Marketplace.
